BENEFITS AND USES:

This medication relieves nausea and vomiting It is also used to manage mood and behavioral changes in some psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychoses. Prochlorperazine is also used as an adjunct for the management of anxiety.

DIRECTIONS:

Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. This medication may be taken with or without food. Prochlorperazine must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop taking Prochlorperazine unless instructed by the doctor.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE?

This medicine may cause the following side effects: - drowsiness - dizziness If affected, do not drive or operate machinery. You may experience dizziness when getting up from a sitting or lying down position, especially if you are taking Prochlorperazine for the first time. This is normal and should disappear gradually as you get used to the medicine. It will help if you get up slowly from a sitting or lying position. Other side effects include: - Constipation - Dry mouth - Light headedness - Headache - Increased sensitivity to sunlight Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
